Product Overview
Thermal Deformation Temperature (HDT): The temperature at which a defined deformation occurs under specified loading conditions and steady linear temperature rise. This parameter characterizes the thermal stability performance of materials under sustained external load.
Vicat Softening Point: The temperature at which a standard weighted needle penetrates 1mm deep into a plastic specimen under stipulated experimental conditions. This index reflects the thermal resistance capability of materials exposed to combined thermal environment and mechanical force.
Testing Methods
HDT Test: The test specimen is positioned on support brackets with a prescribed span, followed by applying the rated load. The assembly is placed within a programmed heating environment. The temperature recorded when specimen deformation reaches the preset threshold is defined as the thermal deformation temperature.
Vicat Test: The specimen is settled inside the heating medium, with a standard indentation needle pressing against the sample under a designated load. The temperature captured when the needle penetrates the specimen to a depth of 1mm is taken as the Vicat softening point.
